Jen Blitchok Selected as MAC Offensive Player of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Graduate student forward Jen Blitchok was selected as the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced this afternoon. This is Blitchok's second player of the week award this season.

Blitchok had a dominant week, racking up seven points on three goals and one assist. She did all of her damage in a 6-0 win against Miami on Sunday afternoon, earning her first career hat trick in the match. She tallied her first goal of the game off of a corner kick to make the score 3-0. She then put the game away with a pair of goals in the second half to cap off the six-goal win.

The Grandville, Mich. native leads the league in points (22) and goals this season (10). Additionally, Blitchok is tied for third in the nation in goals, trailing the leader by just three. The veteran forward is now just two goals away from tying and three goals away from breaking the program's single-season record. The current record is held by Emma Kahn, who set the record back in 2015.

Blitchok and the Broncos will hit the field again on Thursday, Sept. 26 against Buffalo. The Broncos and Bulls are two of the top-rated teams in the conference. The game is set to begin at 4 PM at the WMU Soccer Complex.
