BOARDMAN, Ohio – Western Michigan junior Megha Vallabhaneni turned in another top-10 finish after tying for seventh as the WMU golf team wrapped up the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State at Mill Creek Park Golf Course, on Monday.
Vallabhaneni shot a final round 75 for a 36-hole total of 146 (+3) for her second top-10 finish of the season so far.
As a team, the Broncos finished in fifth place with a 607 (+31) after closing out the tournament with a 307. YSU won as both a team and had Neeranuch Prajunpanich and Valentina Pena Anaya finish tied for the medalist spot.
Freshman Lauren Lupinek was WMU's second finisher, shooting a 153, after a second round of 77. Lupinek just missed out on the top 20, finishing just one stroke behind. Saanvi Venkatesh competed as an individual with a 154 and was matched by sophomore Bella Brooks. Junior Jenna Hayes finished with a 155 and Macy Beeson rounded out WMU's five with a 161.
Western Michigan has the week off before returning home to host the WMU Bronco Fall Classic at The Moors Golf Club in Portage, Oct. 7-8
