KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Fresh off of a second consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearance, the Western Michigan University men's soccer team was ranked 12th in the 2024 United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
Entering his 12th season at the helm for the Brown and Gold, head coach
Chad Wiseman sits three wins away from owning the program's all-time head coaching wins title. Last year, Wiseman and the men's soccer team captured one of their most successful seasons to date. Spearheaded by the alumni duo of
Charlie Sharp (the Brown and Gold's all-time goal scorer and first-ever MAC Hermann finalist) and
Dylan Sing (The Missouri Valley Conference Forward & Player of the Year, and WMU's consecutive games with a goal-scored king), the Broncos achieved 17 wins, while earning a plethora of team and individual records and awards.
On Thursday, August 8, the men's soccer team will host is annual Brown and Gold game at WMU Soccer Complex. Admission to the game is free and kickoff is slated at 5:00 PM.
The Brown and Gold will begin the 2024 season at WMU Soccer Complex on Thursday, August 22, at 5:30 PM against #14 University of Vermont. Wiseman and the Broncos are looking to expand on their active postseason streak, in which they will look to reach the Sweet Sixteen for a third consecutive season.
