KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team continues its road trip with a match against Wisconsin on Sunday, September 1. The Badgers and Broncos will kickoff at 2 PM ET.
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan had its three game unbeaten streak come to an end, as Creighton downed the Broncos 3-0 on Thursday in Omaha, Neb.
The Broncos had eight shots, including five on goal. The Brown and Gold also took five corner kicks in the match.
BLITCHOCK'S BLISTERING START
After earning First Team All-MAC honors last season,
Jen Blitchok has picked up right where she left off to begin the 2024 campaign. She currently sits among the top five in the nation in goals with five in four games.
Blitchok had three goals this past week, which led to her being named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week. She has two multi-goal games this season and is averaging 1.25 goals per game.
SHARING IS CARING
While
Jen Blitchok has been on a scoring tear to begin the season, plenty of other players have been setting her up for those opportunities.
Seven players have at least one assist, with five players having two or more.
Abby Werthman leads the way with three, as she's had an assist in all but one game this season.

Emily Pagett and
Heidi Thomasma all have two in four games. Werthman leads the MAC in helpers, while the other four are tied for second in the league.
SCOUTING THE BADGERS
Wisconsin is off to a hot start, owning a 3-1 record thus far in 2024. The Badgers have wins over UCONN, Providence and Loyola Chicago. Their lone loss is to No. 3 BYU.
WMU is 0-3-0 all-time against Wisconsin, including a 2-1 loss last season in Kalamazoo.
The Broncos will have their hands full with Aryssa Mahrt, who is averaging a goal a game. In total, she has nine points on four goals and one assist so far this season.
In net, Drew Stover has started all four games. She holds a 0.50 goals against average and .833 save percentage.
