KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team will hit the road for the first time this season when it plays Creighton tomorrow evening. The game is set to begin at 5 PM ET.
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan improved its record to 2-0-1 with a 3-0 victory over Marquette on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Jen Blitchok had her second two-goal game of the season, finding the back of the net twice in the second half.
Jaden Peck provided the other goal for the Broncos.
BLITCHOCK'S BLISTERING START
After earning First Team All-MAC honors last season,
Jen Blitchok has picked up right where she left off to begin the 2024 campaign. She currently sits in a tie for the nation's lead in goals with five on the season.
Blitchok had three goals this past week, which led to her being named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week. She has two multi-goal games this season and is averaging 1.67 goals per game.
SHARING IS CARING
While
Jen Blitchok has been on a scoring tear to begin the season, plenty of other players have been setting her up for those opportunities.
Seven players have at least one assist, with five players having two or more.
Abby Werthman leads the way with three, as she's had an assist in every game so far this season.

Heidi Thomasma all have two in three games. Werthman leads the MAC in helpers, while the other four are tied for second in the league.
SCOUTING THE BLUE JAYS
Creighton is off to a 1-1 start to begin the 2024 season, earning a win against Iowa State while falling to Minnesota.
WMU is 0-1-1 all-time against the Blue Jays. However, the two teams haven't met since the 2006 season.
Azumi Manriki leads the team in goals with two this season. Tilly Thomas has the other goal for Creighton this year.
In net, Alyssa Zalac has played both games for the Blue Jays, boasting a 1.50 goals against average and .700 save percentage.
