Track and Field Lands Eight on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday the 2024 Women's Track and Field Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 175 student-athletes were named to this year's squad, including eight from Western Michigan. 

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

The eight Broncos earning the award for the outdoor season were: Kennedy Hagens (Physician Assistant Prep), Lane Hagens (Psychology), Annalise James (Holism and Contemplative Health), Anichka Malachi (Computer Science), Kayla Schiera (Exercise Science), Brooke Soper (Digital Media and Journalism), Tess Van Dyk (Biology) and Madison Zarembski (Pre-Elementary Education).
