KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey program and head coach
Pat Ferschweiler have announced the return of forward
Tim Washe for the 2024-25 season.
Washe joined the program for the 2020-21 season, quickly becoming a key piece to the success of the team. Over the course of his career, he has played in 129 games. In those games, he's produced 36 points on 12 goals and 24 assists.
Outside of scoring, Washe is one of the best players in the nation in the faceoff dot. For his career, he is 57.6 percent on draws. He's been the NCHC leader in faceoff winning percentage each of the last two seasons.
During his true senior season in 2023-24, Washe served as an assistant captain for the team. On the ice, he posted 12 points on two goals and 10 assists. He was also an NCHC Distinguished Scholar Athlete.
His play has helped the team rise to national prominence. In his four years with the program, the Broncos have won 80 games. Additionally, the team has made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, which had never been done in program history prior to the 2023-24 season.
"I'm really excited to be coming back to WMU for one more season," Washe said. "I feel very fortunate to have another opportunity to play in front of the best fans in college hockey, while furthering my education at school. I'm also looking forward to another chance of making a run in postseason hockey."
