Broncos Have Five Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team was announced this afternoon, with five Broncos headling the list of honorees.

Kennedy Hagens, Lane Hagens, Mabinty Kebe, Danielle Rinn and Tess Van Dyk were the WMU selections. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or higher while being top-50 in the region in an individual event throughout the cross country/track and field season.

Kebe and Rinn will advance to the Academic All-American ballot, which will be released on July 9. Kebe was a two-time All-MAC performer during the track and field season, which included winning a MAC Championship in the 400-meter hurdles during the outdoor season. Rinn was a First Team All-MAC honoree during cross country season after finishing seventh at the league meet.

Van Dyk and Lane Hagens each scored in the shot put during the outdoor track and field season, while Kennedy Hagens was among the top-50 athletes in the Great Lakes Region in the shot put during the indoor season. All three will return next year for their junior seasons.
