Cedric Fiedler Inks Deal with Lausanne HC

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Lausanne Hockey Club announced the signing of Swiss-American defender Cédric Fiedler until the end of the 2026-27 season (3 seasons).

Fiedler has been a model of consistency on the back end for the Broncos over his four years in Kalamazoo, earning the title of assistant captain in his final season with the Brown and Gold.

During his final year with Western Michigan, Fiedler collected eight assists, 24 blocked shots and a +24 rating. His plus/minus led the team, and he played in all 38 games for the Broncos.

His play was key down the stretch, notching a pair of assists over the team's last three games. The final assist of his college career came against Michigan State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Over the course of his college career, good things happened when he was on the ice. He finishes his time in Kalamazoo having played in 131 games, tallying 29 points on three goals and 26 assists to go along with a +48 plus/minus and 92 blocked shots.

Team wise, Fiedler helped the Broncos to a third straight NCAA Tournament, which had never been done in program history prior to this season. Additionally, Western Michigan has surpassed 20 victories each of the last three years.

"My four years at Western helped me improve not only as a player but as a person," Fiedler said. "The coaches and staff at Western were integral in my growth. Being able to play in front of the Lunatics was an indescribable experience, and I looked forward to every home game. I want to extend my sincerest thanks to the coaches, staff, players and fans for their endless support. I am sad my time as a Bronco has come to an end, but I am excited to see what the future holds."
