Ferrari, Kebe and Robinson Post Great Results at NCAA East Preliminaries

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Three Western Michigan track and field athletes competed on the opening day of the NCAA East Preliminaries with each earning strong results in their respective events.

Mabinty Kebe notched a PR in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing the race in a time of 58.79. That time bumped her up to No. 9 in program history and nearly made the NCAA Quarterfinals. Kebe finishes her season as a NCAA Regional qualifier and First Team All-MAC performer.

Sandra Ferrari was also great in her lone event, collecting a mark of 5.93 meters in the long jump. Her leap just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Outside of being a NCAA Regional qualifier, she was also Second Team All-MAC.

Bri'Yanna Robinson was the third Bronco to compete on the opening day of the NCAA East Preliminaries, recording a throw of 14.64 meters in the shot put. She finished the season as the school record holder in the event.

UP NEXT
Kayla Schiera will compete on Saturday in the 3K steeplechase. She holds the school record in the event and ranks in the top-20 nationally.
