BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Western Michigan's Megha Valabhaneni and
Natalie Samdal sit in the top 20 after the opening round of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green, on Saturday.
Vallabhaneni sits 10th after a 73 (+1). The sophomore had two birdies on the day, along with 13 pars and now sits four shots off the lead. Samdal is tied for 18th after shooting an opening-round of 75 (+3). Samdal had one birdie, 11 pars and eagled the par-five 14th hole.

Jenna Hayes is just one shot back of Samdal after shooting a 76 (+4). Graduate student
Alissa Fish was WMU's fourth-finisher, shooting a 79 (+7) and freshman
Isabella Brooks rounded out WMU's top five with an 86.
As a team, the Broncos sit in seventh place, with a combined score of 303 (+15). WMU is just two shots from fifth-place Loyola and seven strokes off of third place.
Western Michigan wraps up the tournament on Sunday.
