KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team welcomes Ball State to West Hills Athletic Club for a match at 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

The match is part of a double-header with the men's tennis team, who host Buffalo at 2 p.m. outdoors at Sorensen Courts.
The Broncos (10-6, 1-2 MAC) split games at home and on the road last weekend. WMU hosted Bowling Green on Friday and came away with a 5-2 win, but fell at Northern Illinois in a heart-breaker in the final match, 4-3. Against the Falcons, WMU was able to win the doubles point and quickly built a 3-1 lead thanks to wins by
Lindsey Zieglar and
Valeriya Monko. BGSU cut the lead to 3-2 until
Karin Hamilton finished her two-set win at No. 3 to seal the victory. Against the Huskies, WMU dropped the doubles point and found itself down 3-0 before battling back with singles wins by
Maya Perkucin,
Polina Khotko and
Lindsey Zieglar. The match came down to No. 6 singles, with NIU taking the match 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The Cardinals (5-10, 2-1 MAC) split a home-and-home with Eastern Michigan last weekend. BSU fell at EMU, 6-1, but responded on Sunday with a 4-3 win over the Eagles. Ball State's other conference win came at home against NIU, 4-3.
WMU will split road/home action next week. The Broncos open up next Friday at Buffalo before returning home to host Northern Illinois on Sunday at 1 p.m.
