KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team takes its 10-match winning streak on the road to Ball State on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
The Broncos have opened MAC play going 4-0 with wins over UIC, Northern Illinois, Buffalo and Toledo. The Cardinals are 2-2 with losses to NIU and UT, while picking up wins over the Flames and the Bulls.
HAT TRICK
For the third time this season, the Broncos have swept the MAC weekly awards. For their performances in WMU's road wins at Buffalo and at Toledo, freshman
Drew Evans and senior
Benjamin George earned the MAC Doubles Team of the Week. George was also named the MAC Singles Player of the Week after clinching WMU's fourth and final point in the win at Toledo.
The duo of Evans and George have now twice captured Doubles Team of the Week honors this season.
PARALLEL
The Broncos have a 10-match winning streak and so does an individual Bronco. Junior
Anton Arzhankin has also won 10 straight matches, including his last one over Toledo's Pawit Sornlaksup which ended the reigning MAC Player of the Year's 22-match MAC winning streak.
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan returns home to begin its second go-round through the MAC next weekend, hosting Buffalo on Friday at 2 p.m. and Toledo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
