ST PAUL, Minn. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference held its annual awards banquet at the St. Paul Event Center tonight, honoring the conference's individual award winners and All-Conference Teams. 

Luke Grainger headlined the banquet for WMU, accepting trophies for All-NCHC Second Team honors and the Senior Scholar Athlete Award. Grainger was sensational in conference play this season, totaling 24 points on nine goals and 15 assists. 

Among forwards, he was fourth in the league in assists and fifth in points. When including all players, his marks all rank top 15 in the conference. On the season, the WMU captain has 47 points on 14 goals and 33 assists. All of those numbers are career highs. 

In the classroom, Grainger has also been exceptional.  Grainger has a 3.71 GPA in Finance, and he's been a four-time NCHC Distinguished Scholar Athlete. Additionally, he earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors last season. 

Grainger is the third Bronco to win the Senior Scholar Athlete award in the last four years. Drew Worrad won it in 2021-22, while Kale Bennett earned the honor in 2020-21. 

Alex Bump hit the stage to accept his award for All-Rookie Team honors. Bump was recognized multiple times throughout the season, including NCHC Rookie of the Month honors in February. 

In 24 conference games, the Prior Lake, Minn. native totaled 20 points on eight goals and 12 assists. Bump joins Ryan McAllister, Ronnie Attard and Ben Blacker as Broncos to earn NCHC All-Rookie Team honors. 

On the season, the young winger has totaled 34 points on 13 goals and 21 assists. He has six multi-point games this season, including five against conference opponents. Over his last 10 games, Bump has elevated his game, recording 11 points on four goals and seven assists.
