PROSPECT, Ky. – Western Michigan golf's Bella Brooks and
Natalie Samdal sit just outside the top 10 at the Nevel Meade Collegiate Invitational at Nevel Meade Golf Course on Monday.
Both Brooks and Samdal shot an opening round of 79 (+7) and are tied for 14th. The pair are just two strokes from a tie for ninth place. Sophomore and reigning MAC Golfer of the Week,
Megha Vallabhaneni sits one shot behind them after shooting an 80 (+8).
Jenna Hayes and
Macy Beeson finished out WMU's lineup with an 83 (+11) and an 84 (+12).
As a team, Western Michigan is tied for fifth after combining for a 321 (+33). The Broncos are tied with Indiana State and sit just eight strokes from second-place UIC. Oakland leads the tournament with an opening round of 306 (+18).
