CHICAGO, Ill. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team is set to spend the weekend in Chicago, taking on DePaul on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET and Navy on Sunday at 10 a.m.
LAST WEEK
Western Michigan improved to 6-3 on the season after a pair of home wins against Illinois State and Dayton. The pair of 5-2 victories improved the Broncos home record to 5-0.
ANOTHER ONE
Due to their performance in helping the Broncos win the doubles points against the RedBirds and the Flyers, Jackson Boone and Anton Arzhankin were named the MAC Doubles Team of the Week. Arzhankin and Boone went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles against ISU and DU.
This is the second MAC Doubles Team of the Week for the Broncos, with Drew Evans and Benjamin George claiming the other.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Western Michigan will be up against two tough teams in the Blue Demons and the Midshipmen. DePaul heads into the match with a 4-4 record, with tough losses at nationally-ranked Michigan and Boston College. DPU's signature win was a 4-3 win at Wisconsin.
Navy heads into Sunday's match with a 12-2 record on the season but will play a double-header against Morgan State and Hofstra on Saturday.
ON THE HORIZON
WMU has a week off before opening MAC play hosting UIC on Friday, March 8 and Northern Illinois on Sunday, March 10. Admission is free.
