KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team is back at home for a pair of matches against Illinois State on Friday and Dayton on Sunday.
The Broncos and the RedBirds face of on Friday at 3 p.m. and against the Flyers on Sunday at 10 a.m. Admission to all WMU tennis matches is free.
ADDING ANOTHER NUMBER
Prior to the start of Friday's match, the Broncos will take a moment to recognize their 2022-23 MAC Regular Season Championship and the addition of the 23 on its championship banner at West Hills Athletic Club. Fans are encouraged to show up early to celebrate the program's 28th regular season championship.
CLEAN SWEEP
The Broncos swept the MAC Men's Tennis Weekly Awards, with
Drew Evans and
Benjamin George earning MAC Doubles Team of the Week and
Anton Arzhankin was named MAC Singles Player of the Week.
It was the first doubles award of the week for the Broncos, while Arzhankin picked up his second singles award.
FINDING THEIR FOOTING
WMU went 2-0 in taking the doubles point over the weekend in sweeps of Butler and Cornerstone. Prior to that the Broncos had not earned the doubles point at all in the previous five matches. '
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan heads on the road next weekend for a pair of matches at DePaul. The Broncos play the Blue Demons on Saturday at 3 p.m. and then take on Navy on Sunday at 9 a.m.
