Vallabhaneni and Samdal Climb Leaderboard on Day Two at Utah Tech Trailblazer Invite

WASHINGTON, Utah – The Western Michigan golf team made some moves up the standings on day two of the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational at Green Spring Golf Course on Monday afternoon.

No one in the entire field moved up more than WMU sophomore Megha Vallabhaneni. Vallabhaneni moved up 23 places on the day after shooting a 71 to sit tied for 12th at 153 (+9). The Northville, Mich., native was just one of three golfers to shoot -1 in the second round.

Graduate student Natalie Samdal jumped 18 spots in the standings and now sits tied for tied for 17th after a second-round score of 73. Fellow graduate student Alissa Fish is tied for her at 155 (+11) after shooting a 77. Sophomore Jenna Hayes (+14/158) and Kailey White (+29/173) rounded out WMU's five.

After taking 21 total shots off of their round one total, the Broncos moved up as a team to sixth overall with a 621 (+45). WMU trails host Utah Tech by two strokes.

The Broncos wrap up the final round on Tuesday at 12 p.m. ET.
