KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- After handling Michigan Tech last night in the Great Lakes Invitational opening round, Western Michigan was able to rise into the top four of the latest national polls.
The Broncos jumped up to No. 4 in the nation in the latest USCHO poll, leaping over Maine and Denver. This is WMU's highest ranking of the season, and WMU has been ranked in every poll throughout the 2024-25 campaign.
The Brown and Gold were joined by Devner, Colorado College, St. Cloud State, North Dakota and Arizona State in the polls. The NCHC is the only conference to have six teams ranked nationally this week.
WMU takes on No. 1 Michigan State tonight in the Great Lakes Invitational Championship game. Puck drop is set for 7 PM at Van Andel Arena. The Broncos will play at home against Alaska Anchorage later this week on Jan. 3-4.
