KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The #14 Western Michigan University men's soccer team will host the University of Illinois Chicago on Wednesday, November 6, at 2:30 PM. Admission to the contest is free and the game will be streamed on Bronco All-Access.
Last Time Out
The Brown and Gold saw its record-breaking unbeaten streak conclude Friday, November 1, at Bowling Green after a 3-0 defeat. WMU had previously recorded 37 games without a loss starting on August 27, 2023.
During the match, Captain Landon Fisher made his 79th appearance for the Brown and Gold. Tomorrow, Fisher will become the third player in program history to achieve 80 appearances.
WMU's Home Unbeaten Streak
The men's soccer team enters Wednesday's contest with a 22-game home unbeaten streak dating back to October 22, 2022. Over their last 22 games at WMU Soccer Complex, the Broncos have boasted a home record of 18-0-4.
Scouting UIC
The Flames enter Wednesday's contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, UIC defeated Bradley University on Friday, November 1, 2-0 in Chicago behind goals from redshirt junior forward Brian Perez and redshirt senior forward Bart Muns.
On the season, Muns paces UIC with six goals and one assist for a team-high 13 points. In the assist department, Rui Reis and Jesus De Vicente lead UIC with four assists each.
Series History
The Broncos trail the overall series 5-6-1 dating back to 1990. In their last matchup, The Brown and Gold defeated UIC (who was ranked 20th in the nation at the time) on September 30, 2023, in a road battle 1-0. In the win, WMU alumni Dylan Sing scored the game-winner in the 56th minute to propel the Broncos to their ninth consecutive game without a loss.
