Cameron Rowe Named NCHC Goaltender of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan graduate student Cameron Rowe was selected as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Goaltender of the Week, the league announced this afternoon. 

Rowe is now a nine-time NCHC Goaltender of the Week award winner. The Wilmette, Ill. native is fresh off of a dominating performance against Minnesota Duluth. He spearheaded a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs on Nov. 22, making 42 saves. 

The veteran goaltender is now 5-0-0 on the season with a 1.59 goals against average and .938 save percentage. Nationally, he is ninth in GAA and 10th in save percentage. His latest victory brought him to 59 in his career, which is the highest active total in the NCAA. 

In his three-year WMU career, Rowe has produced a 48-30-2 record, 2.43 GAA and .906 save percentage. He is third in program history in GAA and his 48 wins are the fifth most in program history. 

Rowe and the Broncos will have another test this weekend, as No. 6 Michigan is next on the schedule. WMU will host the Wolverines on Friday, Nov. 29 before heading to Ann Arbor for the series finale on Saturday, Nov. 30.
