CLEVELAND – In conjunction with its TV partners, ESPN and CBS Sports Network, the Mid-American Conference announced its national basketball television schedule for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday. The extensive package features coverage of MAC men's and women's basketball contests that will be televised nationally on the following linear platforms -- ESPN2, ESPNU and CBS Sports Network.
The first wave of national television selections were also announced on Tuesday, with the remainder of ESPN and CBS Sports Network's picks being 21-day wildcard selections, with games on February 14, February 21, February 22, February 28 and March 7 to be announced by those networks 21 days in advance.
The MAC Men's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals will be available on ESPN+, the industry-leading sports streaming service. For the ninth consecutive year, the MAC Men's Tournament Semifinals will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network, while the Championship Game is slated to air on ESPN2 on Saturday, March 15. The MAC Women's Tournament Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be on ESPN+, with CBS Sports Network set to air the MAC Women's Tournament Championship Game on Saturday, March 15.
In addition to its national television package, all 12 MAC institutions will be participating in the league's school content production program with ESPN. Each institution will provide a minimum of 35 athletic events as part of the agreement. Those games will appear exclusively on ESPN+. Games airing on an ESPN network will also be available on the ESPN App to authenticated pay TV subscribers.
The WMU men's basketball team is also slated to be featured on national television twice during its non-conference schedule. The Bronco men head to Butler on November 11 for a game that will be aired on Fox Sports 1, and then will be featured on Big Ten Network for their December 30 contest at Michigan State.
Basketball season is just a few weeks away, with both the men's and women's teams gearing up for their regular season home openers the week of November 4. The Western Michigan women's team begins its 2024-25 campaign on Monday, November 4 at University Arena against Arkansas State.
