Second Wave of Matchups Announced for MAC-Sun Belt Challenge

CLEVELAND - The second wave of matchups for the 2025-26 MAC-Sun Belt Challenge were jointly announced by the conference offices on Tuesday. The Western Michigan women's team will host South Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 7, while the men's team is slated to visit Texas State later that same day. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.

On the women's side, Western Michigan and South Alabama are set to tip at 1 pm that afternoon at University Arena. WMU is 2-3 in the three years of the MAC-SBC Challenge, and dropped the first game of this year's challenge at Appalachian State on Opening Night. It will mark the first-ever meeting between the Broncos and Jaguars, who are 8-6 overall and 1-3 so far in conference play. The Sun Belt won eight of the 13 women's matchups back in November.

The Bronco men's team is slated to visit Texas State (9-7, 2-2 SBC) for the programs' first-ever meeting on Feb. 7 at 5 pm. Western Michigan picked up its first win in the challenge earlier this year, knocking off Coastal Carolina, 76-71, on Opening Night at University Arena. WMU's victory helped the MAC men get out to a 9-4 lead going into the second wave of games next month.
