KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After dominating both Bowling Green and York this past week, the Western Michigan hockey team moved up in the latest national polls.
WMU beat Bowling Green 6-2 on Thursday and defeated York 8-0 on Saturday, leading to the Broncos moving up to No. 13 in the nation in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live poll. That is a three-spot leap from last week.
In the USCHO poll, WMU was ranked No. 14. That was also a three-spot jump from last week. The Broncos surged by Omaha, UMASS and Wisconsin in the rankings.
The NCHC continued its dominance in the polls, having nearly every team ranked or receiving votes. Denver, North Dakota, Colorado College, St. Cloud State and Omaha were all ranked alongside Western Michigan, while Arizona State and Minnesota Duluth were receiving votes.
Western Michigan will face No. 2 Boston College on Saturday in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Puck drop is set for 7 PM at Conte Forum.
