KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team remained among the nation's elite, with the USCHO and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls being released this afternoon.
The Broncos checked in at No. 12 in both polls, setting up a top-20 matchup in Kalamazoo this weekend. The Brown and Gold are set to host Colorado College on Jan. 26-27 at Lawson Arena. Puck drop for Friday's series opener is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's finale will begin at 6 p.m. WMU swept the Tigers back in November.
Denver, North Dakota, St. Cloud State and Colorado College were also ranked in the top-20 of both polls. The NCHC is one of two conferences to have five or more teams ranked in this week's poll.
This week, Western Michigan will be hosting its alumni weekend as part of its 50th Anniversary of Varsity Hockey celebration. The Broncos are planning to recognize various former players, coaches and teams throughout the weekend, beginning with a pre-game ceremony on Friday night.
