Fish Places in Top 10 at A-Ga-Ming Invitational

KEWADIN, Mich. – Western Michigan graduate student Alissa Fish claimed her first top-10 finish of the season as the WMU golf team wrapped up competition at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational on Monday afternoon.

Fish moved up 13 spots in the final round to tie for seventh place after shooting a 69 for a 54-hole total of 220 (+4).

As a team, the Broncos finished in sixth place with a 54-hole total of 911 (+47) after combining for a final round of 302. WMU finished head of Mid-American Conference competitors Eastern Michigan and Ohio, who both finished in eighth place. Host Central Michigan just edge out Western Michigan for fifth place by two strokes.

Graduate student Natalie Samdal finished off the tournament with a 76 for a total of 222 (+6), tying for 11th place. Sophomore Megha Vallabhaneni finished with a 228 (+12) after wrapping up the tournament with her best round, a 74. Freshman Macy Beeson finished off her first collegiate tournament with a 242 (+26), while Ally Barth wrapped up WMU's competitors with a 250 (+34).

Western Michigan is back in action next Monday at the Jennifer Duke Invitational, hosted by Cincinnati.
