YORKTOWN, Ind. – Western Michigan sophomore Kailey White sits tied for eighth place after the opening two rounds of the Brittany Kelly Classic, hosted by Ball State at The Players Club on Monday.
White, who is competing as an individual and will not factor into the team's score, opened the tournament with a 74 and finished it up with a 73 for a 147 (+3). White had eight birdies between the two rounds, tied for second-most in the field.
Western Michigan is in eighth place after 36 holes with a combined score of 615 (+39). The Broncos shot a 306 in the opening round and closed out the day with a 309. The host Cardinals sit at the top of the leaderboard with a score of 584.
Graduate students Alissa Fish and Natalie Samdall are tied for 12th, sitting just two shots back from White with 149's. Both opened with a 74 and finished with a 75. Sophomore Megha Vallabhaneni finished with a 155 (+11), while Macy Beeson and Jenna Hayes alternated rounds with Hayes opening with an 82 and Beeson finishing with an 80.
The Broncos wrap up the tournament on Tuesday.
