The Broncos will look to continue their balanced attack on the offensive third of the field Monday. Among Western's 16 field players, seven have recorded one assist through the team's first three games of the 2023 campaign. Last season, through WMU's first three matches, only four individual players had tallied assists for a team total of six helpers.
Charlie Sharp continues to engrave himself into the men's soccer record books: Last time out against Air Force, Sharp scored his 25th career goal for the Brown and Gold to move into third place on the all-time scoring list. Sharp is currently five goals away from surpassing Randy Wojtala (1976-79) for the second-most goals in program history (29).
Western Michigan, looking to continue their balanced play, are in search of their eighth 3-1 start or better through four games since the 2004 season. After falling to #12 ranked Vermont, the Brown and Gold have strung together two consecutive wins: a 3-1 victory over Kyle Beckerman Utah Valley University at America First Field, and a 1-0 shutout win over Air Force in Colorado Springs.
Entering next week, Coach Wiseman sits two wins away from becoming the second coach in program history to eclipse 110 career victories for the men's soccer program. Wiseman stands at 108 career victories for Western Michigan and is currently 17 wins from sharing the all-time wins record (125 wins) with Blake Glass (1983-1997).
