KANSAS CITY, Mo – Last week United Soccer Coaches announced the College Team Academic Award winners for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year. On Wednesday, the Western Michigan men's soccer team were among a total of 821 soccer teams (319 men, 502 women) to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thus earning a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Team.
As a squad, the men's soccer program accumulated a grade point average of 3.56 during the year.
The United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over a full academic year.
The Broncos will open the 2023 campaign on the road Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6:00 PM at the University of Vermont and will return home to Kalamazoo on Monday, September 4, against Butler for Bronco Soccerfest.
