Moore Finishes Runner-Up at U.S. Adaptive Open

PINEHURST, N.C. – Western Michigan head golf coach Kim Moore finished in second place at the second annual U.S. Adaptive Open at Pinehurst's legendary No. 6 course earlier this week.

Moore, who on the inaugural event last season, finished with a 56-hole total of 230 (+14). She opened the tournament with an 81 and then turned in a 73 during the second round, the lowest single round by any female competitor. She followed it up with a 76 on the final day of competition.

Ryanne Jackson won the tournament after shooting a 225.

The United States Golf Association established the U.S. Adaptive Open as a new national championship to showcase the world's best golfers with disabilities. The creation of the tournament followed through from a pledge by the USGA in 2017 to establish a championship for the adaptive golf community. Moore was born without a right foot and a slight case of spina bifida.
