WMU Golf Coach Kim Moore Looks to Defend U.S. Adaptive Open Title

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. – Western Michigan head golf coach Kim Moore looks to defend her championship at the second annual United States Adaptive Open, Monday-Wednesday at Pinehurst No. 6.

Moore won last year, also at Pinehurst No. 6. In the first-ever U.S. Adaptive Open, leading from start to finish in the women's field. She heads into the tournament with the top Handicap Index in the women's field with a 2.3.

The United States Golf Association established the U.S. Adaptive Open as a new national championship to showcase the world's best golfers with disabilities. The creation of the tournament followed through from a pledge by the USGA in 2017 to establish a championship for the adaptive golf community. Moore was born without a right foot and a slight case of spina bifida.

Moore looks to add her second victory of the 2023 after winning The R&A G4D Open in England back in May.
