COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Services Ross Chicantek has been selected to serve as the equipment manager for the 2023 U.S. Under-18 Select Team that will compete at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Breclav, Czechia, and Pieštany, Slovakia from August 1-6.

All-time, the U.S. Under-18 Men's Select Team has won the tournament once (2003), while earning second-place finishes in 2016, 2013, 2010, 2006, 2000, 1996, 1994 and 1993.

Chicantek came to Western Michigan prior to the 2021-22 hockey season and has served as the team's equipment manager for the last two years. During his time with the program, the Broncos have made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and won 49 games. Additionally, WMU earned its highest NCHC finish in program history during the 2022-23 season.
