Bajusz Receives All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND – Western Michigan's Rissa Bajusz has been selected to the Softball All-MAC Second Team, announced Wednesday by the league office. 
 
A two time MAC Player of the Week this season, Bajusz ranked third in the league in both strikeouts (163) and strikeout per seven innings (6.7). Her 163 strikeouts rank 45th nationally, while her 6.7 strikeouts per seven innings is good for 146th in the nation. 
 
Bajusz has led the Brown & Gold in the circle in opposing batting average (.250), innings pitched (171), ERA (3.03), strikeouts (163), and wins (13).
 
In 37 appearances and 22 starts, Bajusz owns a career-best 3.03 ERA in 171 innings of work and has tossed a career-high 13 complete games for a total of 25 in her career. She registered a career-best 163 strikeouts this season, including a season-high 10 strikeouts against Bowling Green and Kent State. 
 
The junior pitcher's most dominant performance came in game two of the Bowling Green series when the Aurora, Illinois native took a perfect game heading into the seventh inning. Her 6.1 scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts helped Western Michigan earn its first MAC series complete sweep since 2018, last done on March 30-31 at BGSU.
