KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team continues its road swing through the Mid-American Conference, heading to Northern Illinois to take on the Huskies on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
The Broncos (8-6, 4-0 MAC) came from behind twice last weekend in wins at Ball State and Toledo to remain the only undefeated team in the MAC. The Broncos went down 2-0 at BSU but stormed back from a 5-2 win and then erased a deficit against the Rockets to win, 4-3. The two victories improved Western Michigan's road record to 3-5 on the season.
WMU puts its four-match winning streak on the line at NIU, who is 8-0 at home this season. The Huskies opened MAC play with a 4-3 win over Buffalo and a 6-1 win against Binghamton. Last weekend, Northern Illinois split with Toledo and Ball State last weekend, beating the Rockets on the road and falling at the Cardinals.
Western Michigan is back on the road next weekend, taking on Buffalo on Friday at 10 a.m., Cornell on Saturday at 1 p.m. and then Binghamton on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Broncos finally return home to host BSU on Friday, April 7 to close out the regular season with the first of three straight home matches.
