KALAMZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team will kick off its outdoor season this Friday at the Miami (OH) Blizzard Buster. The Broncos concluded the indoor season with an 11th-place finish at the MAC Indoor Championships, with
Makayla Perez and
Grace Johnson earning All-MAC honors. Perez won the 5,000-meter run and Johnson finished second in the 60-meter hurdles.
WMU will square off with competitors from around the country, including Dayton, Xavier, Bowling Green, Ball State and Northern Kentucky, among others. The Broncos will compete in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 1,500-meter run, 3,000-meter run, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, shot put, hammer throw, discus and javelin.
