KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Tuesday evening Western Michigan men's soccer teammates
Ethan Brandt, Carson Hodgson, and Jonathan Robinson were selected in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The Brown and Gold represented the Missouri Valley Conference with WMU's three selections Tuesday.
Ethan Brandt
Round 2, Pick 46, LA Galaxy
This past season, Brandt started 22 contests and helped lead the Broncos to the 4th best goal differential at +35 in Division I Men's Soccer. This year, Brandt ranked 5th in shutouts, 9th in save percentage, and was 11th in goals against average in the NCAA. During the 2023 campaign, Brandt set the single season program record with 17 wins and the third most shutouts in a single season in WMU history with 10.
Jonathan Robinson
Round 3, Pick 80, Sporting KC
This year in 22 starts, Robinson tied Giuliano Teixeira (2003) for the most assists recorded in a single season (13). The defender led the Bronco backline through his play and vocal leadership in 2023. Robinson helped WMU claim the 6th best shutout percentage in Division I Men's Soccer at 54.5%. Robinson was ranked 2nd in total assists and 10th in assists per game during the 2023 campaign.
Carson Hodgson
Round 3, Pick 86, CF Montreal
During the 2023 campaign Hodgson started in 22 contests and ranked 8th in total assists, 37th in assists per game, and 54th in total points accumulated in the NCAA. The midfielder tied for the third most assists created in program history during a single season with 10 and also tacked on six goals.
The Broncos have now had eight total players selected in the MLS SuperDraft and tonight marked the second time in program history that multiple players were selected in the draft. Last season,

Hunter Morse, and
Charlie Sharp were selected in the MLS SuperDraft.
Brandon Bye was drafted by the New England Revolution in the first round as the eight overall pick in 2018, Drew Shepard was selected by Toronto FC in the second round as the 46th overall pick in 2018, and Eric Pogue was drafted by New England Revolution in the second round as the 53rd overall pick in 2001.
