Three Broncos Selected In Tuesday's MLS SuperDraft

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – On Tuesday evening Western Michigan men's soccer teammates Ethan Brandt, Carson Hodgson, and Jonathan Robinson were selected in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The Brown and Gold represented the Missouri Valley Conference with WMU's three selections Tuesday.

Ethan Brandt

This past season, Brandt started 22 contests and helped lead the Broncos to the 4th best goal differential at +35 in Division I Men's Soccer. This year, Brandt ranked 5th in shutouts, 9th in save percentage, and was 11th in goals against average in the NCAA. During the 2023 campaign, Brandt set the single season program record with 17 wins and the third most shutouts in a single season in WMU history with 10.

This year in 22 starts, Robinson tied Giuliano Teixeira (2003) for the most assists recorded in a single season (13). The defender led the Bronco backline through his play and vocal leadership in 2023. Robinson helped WMU claim the 6th best shutout percentage in Division I Men's Soccer at 54.5%. Robinson was ranked 2nd in total assists and 10th in assists per game during the 2023 campaign.

During the 2023 campaign Hodgson started in 22 contests and ranked 8th in total assists, 37th in assists per game, and 54th in total points accumulated in the NCAA. The midfielder tied for the third most assists created in program history during a single season with 10 and also tacked on six goals.
