KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team wrapped up the first day of singles action at the MAC Indoors at West Hills Athletic Club on Saturday.

Anton Arzhankin and freshmen
Ashton Adesoro and
Dimitri Moriarty have all advanced to finals in their flights. Seniors
Benjamin George,
Jackson Boone and
Ferdinand Schlueter will all compete in the third place match of their flights.
Arzhankin is set for the Flight 1 Championship Match against the reigning MAC Player of the Year Pawit Sornlaksup from Toledo. Arzhankin picked up a 6-4, 7-8 win over Ball State's Nathaniel Webster to open. He then defeated Aleksa Bucan from Illinois-Chicago, 7-6 (10-5), 6-1 in the semifinals. Also competing in Flight 1 was George, who opened with a 6-1, 7-6 win over UIC's Randy Wilson before falling to Sornlaksup in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 1-6. George will face Aleksa Bucan from the Flames in the third-place match.
Boone will play in the third-place match in Flight 2 after opening with a 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 win over Jacks Lancaster from Ball State. He then fell to Toledo's Marco Galic 7-5, 6-3 and will play Danils Snaiders from Buffalo on Sunday.
Adesoro will play Iker Gaztambide Arrastia from Northern Illinois in the Flight 3 Championship on Sunday. He opened with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Illinois-Chicago's Gustavo Schwebel. Adesoro then defeated NIU's Saul Berdullas to advance.
Freshman Matej Kazjer is in the Flight 4 Consolation Final against UIC's Artem Iermolov. After dropping his opening match, Kazjer rebounded to beat Michael Malkin from Buffalo.
Moriarty will face off against UT's Charlie Snow in the Flight 5 Championship match. Moriarty opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Flames' Elliot Dam. He then dispatched BSU's Andrew Hayward 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals. Schlueter will play in the third-place match after opening with a 6-2, 7-6 win over NIU's Sam Klien, but falling to Snow in the semifinals.
Action begins at 9 a.m. Admission is free.
