KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After an excellent set of weeks between the pipes, Western Michigan senior goaltender
Cameron Rowe was selected as the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Goalie of the Month, the league announced this evening.
Rowe is the second Bronco goaltender in program history to earn a NCHC Goaltender of the Month Award. The award began in 2018-19, with Brandon Bussi (December 2021) being the other WMU selection.
In November, Rowe led the league in saves, goals against average, save percentage and shutouts. He finished the month with an outstanding 5-3-0 record, 1.64 goals against average, .938 save percentage, 196 saves and two shutouts. The Wilmette, Ill. native helped the Broncos finish the month on a four-game winning streak and rise to No. 14 in the nation. During the win streak, WMU has outscored its opponents, 16-2.
On the season, Rowe has exceptional numbers, boasting an 8-3-1 record, 2.00 goals against average, .922 save percentage and two shutouts. Nationally, he is tied-for-fifth in shutouts, seventh in wins, ninth in goals against average and tied-for-14th in save percentage.
Rowe and the Broncos will be back in action this weekend with Lindenwood coming to town for a two-game series. The action is set to begin on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 PM inside Lawson Arena.
