KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District list earlier today, with six Western Michigan women's soccer players earning the honor.

Jen Blitchok,
Lauren Boafo,
Madison Cotta,
Emily Pagett and
Mira Pierre-Webster were selected for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Blackburn has maintained a 3.52 GPA in Pre-Physical and Health Education, while also performing well on the field. Blackburn tied for the team lead in assists and was second in points and goals. She collected 18 points on six goals and six assists. With those numbers, she was a Second Team All-MAC selection. Academically, she is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree and will receive the honor again later this year.
Blitchok had an excellent year in the classroom and on the field. She completed her undergraduate work with a 4.0 in Economics and is currently working toward a Master's in Accounting. She is now a three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree. On the field, she led the team in points, goals and assists this season. In total, she had 24 points on nine goals and six assists. After the season, she was recognized as a First Team All-MAC performer.
Boafo is a first-time Academic All-District honoree after an exceptional year on the field and in the classroom. She currently has a 3.97 in Psychology. On the field, Boafo started every game in net this season, producing a 12-4-3 record, 0.84 goals against average, .733 save percentage and nine shutouts. That led to her being named the Mid-American Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and a First Team All-MAC selection.
Cotta was an Honor Roll student at Mississippi State and continued her great academic success since transferring to WMU this past spring. Cotta has a 3.88 GPA and is studying Diversity and Inclusion. On the field, she turned out to be a great passer, ending the season with five assists. Cotta also tallied one goal to finish the 2023 season with seven points.
Pagett is a first-time All-District honoree and currently holds a 3.74 GPA in Pre-Business. She earned Academic All-MAC honors last season and will be selected again later this year. On the field, she proved to be an all-around player, finishing fourth on the team in points with 12. Pagett concluded the season with four goals and four assists.
Pierre-Webster is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection and will be a two-time Academic All MAC pick later this year. She has a 3.97 GPA in Nursing. On the field, Pierre-Webster was the Broncos' best player, earning MAC Defensive Player of the Year honors to go along with being a First Team All-MAC selection. As a defender, she helped the Broncos finish with nine shutouts this season. She also aided the offensive attack, chipping in two assists.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 20.
