Men’s Soccer Concludes Regular Season Against Conference Foe Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Western Michigan men's soccer team (12-1-3) will play its final game of the regular season at Bradley (5-5-6) on Wednesday, November 1, at 8:00 PM ET.

As the regular season comes to a close, consistent play has allowed the Brown and Gold as a team and individually to reach among the NCAA's best in a variety of statistical categories, including goal scoring and assists. On the offensive third of the field, forward Dylan Sing paces the NCAA in the goal scoring department with a league best 14 goals on the year after posting a scorching 71.4 shooting percentage on goal. Sing's teammate Charlie Sharp continues to be a massive headache for opposing defenses as well: The forward is fourth in the NCAA with 2.00 points per game and is ranked inside the top 15 in game winning goals (10th), goals per game (13th), and total goals on the season (15th). In the assist department, the Brown and Gold are ranked 1st in the NCAA with 3.44 per game. Complementing Sing and Sharp are defender Jonathan Robinson and midfielder Carson Hodgson. The two are tied for 8th in NCAA with nine assists each on the season and trail Eliot Goldthorp (Hofstra) by only three assists for a share of the NCAA assist title.

On the defensive third of the field, the back line for the Brown and Gold have put up massive numbers this season by allowing only 0.73 goals per contest during the program's unbeaten streak. Over the team's last five contests, the Broncos have ramped up their defensive efforts by only conceding 0.4 goals per game. With the strong play from the backline, led by goalkeeper Ethan Brandt and defenders Robinson, Nick Stone, Will Perkins, and Jaylen Shannon, Brandt has found himself tied for seventh in shutouts (7) and 16th in save percentage (0.800) in the NCAA. Brandt and the rest of the WMU defense will look to lockdown Jamaine Mejias, who leads Bradley with three goals and one assist in seven appearances for the Braves. Entering Wednesday's contest, the Braves carry a 1-4-5 record in their last 10 matches.

With the consistency of play for the Broncos on all ends of the field, the men's soccer team has watched its unbeaten streak extend over the span of two months. The Brown and Gold will look to improve their program record unbeaten streak on Wednesday to a 16th consecutive game without a loss.
