LONG BEACH, California -- TopDrawerSoccer named its Team of the Week honors Tuesday morning for the week of September 25-October 1. On Tuesday, graduate student Ethan Brandt was named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week for the first time this season.
Last week, Brandt led the Broncos to two 1-0 shutout victories on the road against Wright State and #20 UIC. Brandt would record his fifth and sixth shutouts of the year (and of his career) and during the two games, Brandt would total a combined eight saves. Overall, Brandt's performance helped extend the Brown and Gold's unbeaten streak to nine games, which is two away from Western Michigan's program record of 11 games without a loss. The last time the Broncos would go 11 games without a defeat was during the 2017 campaign.
During his career year, Brandt has ranked among the best in NCAA Division I men's soccer in multiple statistical categories. As of Sunday, October 1, Brandt ranked 2nd in the NCAA in shutouts (6), 20th in save percentage (.812), and 21st in total saves (39).
Brandt and the rest of the men's soccer team return to action at the University of Evansville on Saturday, October 7 at 4:00 PM. Live Stats and livestream information is available under the men's soccer schedule.
