TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The College Soccer News committee announced for the week ending on October 1, 2023, that senior captain
Dylan Sing was named the Men's National Player of the Week.
This past week, Sing led Western Michigan to 1-0 wins over Wright State and #20 UIC with game winners in both contests. Overall, the Broncos have gone unbeaten in nine straight matches and are one game away from matching last year's best unbeaten streak of 10 games, in which they recorded nine wins and one tie from Thursday, September 1, 2022 - Sunday, October 9, 2022.
Sing has now scored a goal in six consecutive matches, extending the Western Michigan record for consecutive games with a goal scored (previously held by Brandon Bye (2014-17)). Sing's efforts not only rewarded him a national player of the week honor, but he has also climbed into a three player tie with Tom Oatly (2004-07) and Mosen Khani (1979-82) for the fourth most goals scored in program history. This season, Sing has tallied seven goals (a personal season best) and has improved his grand total to 24 on his career.
Sing and the rest of the Broncos return to action on Saturday, October 7, in a road matchup at University of Evansville with a 4:00 PM start.
