CLEVELAND – After earning her seventh MAC West Setter of the Week award this season on Monday, senior setter Logan Case of the Western Michigan volleyball team has been named the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week. Case joins teammate Keona Salesman as the two Broncos to have been honored with this award during the 2023-24 academic year.
 
A French major who boasts a 4.00 GPA, Case helped Western Michigan stay undefeated in the MAC with a pair of victories over Central Michigan last week. The senior totaled 75 assists (12.50/set) to fuel a WMU offense which hit .310 in the two wins against the Chippewas.
 
On Thursday, Case started her week with 41 assists as the Broncos hit .371 for the evening, their second-highest, single-match hitting percentage of the season. She followed that up with 34 more assists in Friday's win, and also had a block assist on the match-clinching point.
 
A native of Maineville, Ohio, Case followed up her dominant performance against CMU with 43 helpers in Tuesday night's straight-set victory over NIU to become Western Michigan's all-time leader in career assists.
 
Case and the Broncos put their nine-match winning streak on the line this weekend with a pair of matches at Eastern Michigan. Friday's series opener against the Eagles is set for 6 pm on ESPN+.
