DAYTON, Ohio – After two rounds of the Dayton Flyer Invitational, the Western Michigan golf team sits just five strokes out of second place.
The Broncos combined to shoot a 598 (+38) after an opening round of 303 and a second round of 295, sitting in a tie for seventh with Butler. Just five strokes separate second place (Dayton) and seventh. WMU's second round of 295 is the sixth sub-300 round of the season.
Sophomore
Megha Vallabhaneni was WMU's top finisher on the day. She opened with a 76 and followed up with a 72 for a 148 (+8). She sits just five shots out of the top five. Graduate student
Natalie Samdal and sophomore
Jenna Hayes are tied for 23rd after shooting 150 (+10).
Alissa Fish and
Macy Beeson rounded out WMU's top five with Fish shooting a 153 (+13) and Beeson with a 156 (+16).
The Broncos are back at it on Tuesday for their final round of the Fall Season.
