Hockey Moves Up to No. 9 in Nation

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After earning a 6-4 victory and 3-3 tie against Ferris State this past week, the Western Michigan hockey team moved up to No. 9 in the USCHO poll, which was released earlier today. 

The Broncos jumped in front of St. Cloud State, Cornell and Michigan Tech to reach their highest ranking of the season thus far. WMU also earned the No. 10 ranking in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live poll, which was released Monday afternoon. 

Minnesota, Denver, Boston College, Quinnipiac, North Dakota, Boston University, Michigan, Michigan State, WMU and Providence made up the top 10 of the USCHO poll. 

WMU will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 20 at Bowling Green. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.

This season WMU will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Bronco Varsity Hockey, which will be commemorated in a variety of ways, including a special 50th Anniversary logo at center ice, special in-game tributes throughout the season, and a special Alumni Weekend for Bronco Hockey during the Colorado College series, January 26 and 27. In addition, every season ticket holder will receive a special 50th Anniversary puck to commemorate this special season.
