KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team continues its season with a trip to Ypsilanti, Mich. to take on Eastern Michigan tomorrow afternoon. The game is set for 1 p.m. at Scicluna Field.
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan continued its undefeated run in Mid-American Conference play, getting a late goal from
Abby Werthman on Thursday afternoon to defeat Miami, 1-0. The Broncos are now 4-0-3 in conference play.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
The Broncos have a pair of forwards that have given opposing defenses nightmares.
Abby Werthman and
Jen Blitchok each have 14 points this year with 10 goals and eight assists between the two of them.
Additionally, the two have combined for 64 shots and four game-winning goals this season. Werthman and Blitchok are both transfers that entered the program this season.
ROAD WARRIORS
Western Michigan has been tough to play against on the road this season, with the Broncos currently holding a 5-2-1 mark away from Kalamazoo this season.
WMU has defeated Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Oakland, Central Michigan and Akron on the road this season. They've also added a tie at Bowling Green.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Broncos hold a slight edge, leading the series 16-15-3 all-time. The series has been even in Ypsilanti, however, as each team has eight wins and one tie. Over the last 10 meetings, WMU has won six of the meetings.
EMU has one win in conference play, which came back on Sept. 21 at Central Michigan.
Kate Robinson, Meagan Lukowski and Olivia Sipsock are all double-digit point scorers for the Eagles this season. Robinson leads the way with 12 points on three goals and six assists. The other two have combined for 21 points on nine goals and three assists.
In net, Ella Holland is the top keeper, as she's started 13 of the 14 games for EMU. She holds a 1-7-5 record, 2.12 goals against average and .707 save percentage.
