Hockey Continues to Climb in National Rankings

The Broncos square off with North Dakota on Friday and Saturday.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Though it didn't play any games this past week, the Western Michigan hockey team was able to continue to climb up the national rankings. The Broncos checked in at No. 12 in both the DCU/US College Hockey Online Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, which were both released earlier today.

The Broncos haven't played since claiming the title at the Great Lakes Invitational. In the USCHO poll, WMU made a one-spot leap and has been ranked in the top-20 for 39 consecutive weeks. In the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, the Broncos were able to jump up two spots.

WMU will get back into NCHC play this weekend, battling the Fighting Hawks of North Dakota on Friday and Saturday in Grand Folk, N.D. Both games can be watched live on NCHC.tv and heard live on the Bronco Radio Network.
