KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan golf team continues its fall schedule this Sunday and Monday, traveling to Schereville, Ind., for the Briar Ridge Invitational hosted by Illinois-Chicago at Briar Ridge Country Club.
The tournament is set for 18 holes each day and the course measures to 6,086 yards at a par of 72. The Broncos will compete against host UIC, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, Morehead State, Northern Iowa, Northern Kentucky and Purdue Fort Wayne.
Western Michigan will field a lineup of Alissa Fish, Ally Barth, Natalie Samdal, Megha Vallabhaneni and Haley Barclay. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
The Broncos enter the tournament on the heels of a near record-setting performance at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. WMU combined to shoot an 891 to take third. The score was the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history and the lowest under third-year head coach Kim Moore. Barth was WMU's top finisher at the tournament, tying for seventh place.
WMU is back in action on Oct. 3-4 for the annual Eastern Michigan Shirley Spork Invitational.
