Men's Soccer Posts Second-Highest GPA in DI, Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Honors

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team was named a United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award winner for the 2021-22 academic year.

The Broncos posted a 3.62 grade point average during the period, the second-highest among Division I men's soccer programs for 2021-22.

"What an unbelievable accomplishment for the team," said head coach Chad Wiseman. "It speaks to the culture of our program. Our first and most important goal for each player within our program is to graduate and to do so giving your very best in the academic setting. My staff and I are extremely proud of the work, commitment and marks the team has earned over the last year. This is very impressive, and the entire University should be pleased of the national recognition."

"I would like to give thanks and recognition to our academic team within our athletic department, Jeff Stone, Ashley Williams and Adriana Diaz.  They create great relationships with our players and provide them with the tools to be successful not only in the classroom but in life."

To earn the team academic award a team must post a 3.0 or higher GPA during the given period. The Broncos have earned the honors every season under Wiseman.
