Women's Basketball Unveils 2022-23 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In conjunction with the Mid-American Conference, Western Michigan and head women's basketball coach Shane Clipfell released the team's 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday.

"We're very excited to be announcing our schedule to get our fans as pumped for the new season as we are," coach Clipfell said. "We're fortunate to be bringing a large portion of last year's team back, and everyone has been working extremely hard during the offseason to build off of what we did last year and take things to the next level this season."

The Broncos begin the 2022-23 campaign at home on Monday, Nov. 7, as Loyola Chicago comes to University Arena. Western Michigan then hits the road for its next two contests, beginning on Nov. 13 at Michigan State. Three days later, WMU heads to Ann Arbor to face Michigan.

Western Michigan then returns home for back-to-back contests against Horizon Leagues foes, beginning with Detroit Mercy on Nov. 19. Reigning regular season Horizon League champion Youngstown State comes to Kalamazoo on Nov. 22.

WMU and Northern Illinois are slated to meet just once during the regular season, with that contest set for Jan. 11 at University Arena. The next two tilts are away from home for the Broncos, who visit rival Central Michigan on Jan. 14 and then Ohio on Jan. 18.

On Jan. 21, WMU welcomes Buffalo to Kalamazoo, with Eastern Michigan coming to town a few days later on Jan. 25.

The Broncos begin a stretch of four of five away from home on Jan. 28 at Kent State. WMU opens the month of February with a road tilt at Bowling Green on Feb. 1. Western Michigan is back at home on Feb. 4 to take on Akron, before hitting the road again to face Miami (Feb. 8) and Eastern Michigan (Feb. 11).

Western Michigan gets to spend the majority of the rest of the month at home, with rematches against Toledo and Bowling Green set for Feb. 15 and Feb. 18, respectively, at University Arena.

On Feb. 22, the Broncos head to Muncie, Ind., to take on Ball State, before returning home for their final homestand of the regular season. WMU welcomes Ohio to Kalamazoo on Feb. 25, then has its home finale against CMU on March 1. The Broncos close out the regular season at Buffalo on March 4.

The 2023 MAC Women's Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 8-11 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
